Alexis Binder is an associate at MeadLaw as part of their criminal defense team. Mrs. Binder joined MeadLaw in October 2019, after working for another criminal defense firm in the Baltimore area.

Mrs. Binder, born and raised in Harford County, went to University of New Haven and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors in Criminal Justice, with a concentration in Forensic Psychology. While in college, she did an internship with a non-profit in Baltimore and worked hands on with the youth of the city, which influenced her decision to go to law school.

Following college, Mrs. Binder came back to Maryland and completed her law degree at University of Baltimore School of Law. While in law school, she participated in the Innocence Project Clinic and worked towards getting a client exonerated for a crime he did not commit. The clinic experience shed light on the inner workings of investigations and trials and really demonstrated to her the significance of evidence and art of litigation for effective representation of future clients.

While in law school, Mrs. Binder interned with the Honorable Halee F. Weinstein on the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City, sitting on North Ave. There she shadowed the judge and observed daily dockets. Following that internship, she interned with a private civil firm and worked specifically on the Archdiocese sex abuse cases and assisted with investigations in preparation for the civil litigation. After that, Mrs. Binder worked as a law clerk for a criminal defense attorney in Baltimore City where she got an immense amount of experience with the criminal defense side of things and really solidified her interest in becoming a defense attorney. She ended law school with an internship with the Honorable Lynn Stewart Mays on the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, shadowing her in court and working on post conviction cases.

Following graduation and passing the Maryland Bar, Mrs. Binder joined a small criminal defense and personal injury firm in Essex, where she started her journey as a criminal defense attorney and handled a wide variety of criminal and traffic matters, administrative hearings, and established herself as a reputable attorney who provides aggressive representation of her clients.

Mrs. Binder is a sworn member in good standing of the Maryland bar and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She works diligently to provide the best representation for each and every one of her clients and prides herself on her preparation for each case.

Outside of work, Mrs. Binder spends time with her husband and their 2 rowdy pups and psycho kitten. She enjoys travelling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
